VTCT Level 4 Qualification
There are 4 modules to complete to obtain the Level 4 Certificate in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL):

- Client care and communication in beauty-related industries
- Management of health, safety and security in the salon
- Laser and light treatments for hair removal
- Laser and light for skin rejuvenation
All four unit assignments have to be completed prior to practical assessments. Once completed you will have six days of practical training and assessments. There is now a mandatory unit for covid 19 to complete before completing this course.
You will also be required to produce a portfolio of evidence, undertake practical assessments and complete four assignments.
This highly sought after vocationally related qualification is approved and supported by HABIA; it is focused on reducing hair growth and photo rejuvenation of the skin using intense light and laser.
This VTCT Level 4 qualification will provide you with the necessary skills to carry out Laser Hair Removal treatments, together with Skin Rejuvenation treatments, health and safety when working in the clinic and machine safety knowledge. Students will learn on a Cynosure Elite Plus laser machine, which is a leading industry laser machine. We also have an E2000 IPL machine to use during practical assessments.
We also provide support after completion of your course as you begin to provide Laser Hair Removal and Skin Rejuvenation treatments, as you can be unsure of how to deal with certain situations and only experience can give you this knowledge.

You will gain experience and knowledge of using both an IPL Machine and a Medical Grade Laser using Alexandrite and Yag wavelengths. We use state of the art equipment and our trainer has over ten years’ experience within the laser industry.
After completing your course, you will be given advise on various different machines should you wish to purchase one.
The course is designed to help develop an understanding of being able to identify and control hazards in your aesthetic clinic and to be able to identify skin and hair conditions during laser hair removal and skin rejuvenation treatments and who is suitable to undergo treatments. Our training will allow you to perform high-quality treatments in a safe and effective manner.
Part Time
Includes E-Learning, Blended Learning, Practical Clinical days as advised by the tutor and must adhere strictly to our guideline policy.
Intense Study Option
All theory and assignments must be completed prior to practical training.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

- Minimum age for entry onto this course is 18 years
- You must be able to speak, read and write English fluently
- A Minimum of NVQ Level 3 Beauty Therapy is Required
- A good understanding of Anatomy and Physiology
COURSE CONTENT AND STRUCTURE

- Week 1 – Monday 3-hour teams meeting, Client care and communication in beauty-related industries
- Week 2 – Monday 3-hour teams meeting, Management of health, safety and security in the salon
- Week 3 – Monday 3-hour teams meeting, Laser and light treatments for hair removal
- Week 4 – Monday 3-hour teams meeting, Laser and light for skin rejuvenation
After delivery of theory, assignments will be set for each unit. If more time is needed to complete the assignments you will be put onto the next cohort of practical assessments.
Once all assignments have been completed and signed off by the tutor the Practical assessments will take place over a two-week period.
